Gem Mining is cheaper than you think and so much fun that it would be a bargain at twice the price.  After all, who can put a price tag on family memories anyway?!

Admission Prices

Ages 15 thru 60 - $15 each
All others - $10 each

Each Admission Includes ~ 2 ~ Starter Buckets of dirt -
Either 2 Native, (Potential Ruby Bearing) Buckets,
or 2 Regular Enriched Rainbow Buckets
or 1 of each - Your Choice!

You'll also get a seat at the Flume, the use of a Screening Tray, a Tin Can for your hopefuls, and a Film Canister to take your definite Rubies and/or Sapphires home in (or you can leave them to be cut and polished).  If you are going thru Rainbow Buckets you will be given a Zip Bag to put your goodies into and of course, no matter which type of bucket you choose, you'll also receive our cheerful, sometimes zany, assistance throughout your visit to Sheffield Mine.

Be prepared for a waiting time if you arrive later than 10:30 am.

• If your family's name is put onto a waiting list, your wait time will be anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. We have picnic tables and benches to sit upon while you wait. You can also hang out and watch or you can visit our Gift Shop.
  
• If your family's name is put onto our Early List, you will have at least 2 hours of mining time no matter how late you are actually seated.
  
• If your family's name is put onto our Late List, you will have a limited amout of time to mine, that is possibly less than 2 hours and your Admission Fee will be adjusted as well as the number of buckets that you are allowed.
   

More hours of fun than a movie, more memorable

These buckets contain Emeralds from Brazil, some are better suited to a Cabochon Cut
while others can be Facet Cut

Super Rainbow Bucket - (3.5 gallon bucket -$25)
This bucket contains nearly every enriched gemstone from around the world that we have in stock. Several stones are a nice specimen size.

Super Duper Rainbow Bucket - (5 gallon bucket - $50)
This bucket contains a larger quantity of Enriched Gemstones as well as Mexican Opal &
1 already Cut & Polished Gemstone

The Big Easy Rainbow Bucket - (5 gallon bucket - $100)
Same size bucket as above, but almost 2 times the gemstones & a lot less dirt!
Plus Mexican Opal, Emeralds, & 2 already Cut & Polished Gemstones

Sparkle Bucket - $15
This bucket includes the translucent gemstones, some of which can be Faceted,
while some are better suited to the Cabochon Cut

Fossil Bucket - $15
This bucket contains ancient Fossils from a variety of animals and plants

Kidtastic Fun - $12
This bucket contains 3 regular Rainbow Buckets and comes with a Rock Hound Button,
a Gem ID Card and a Kid type Surprise

Super & Super Duper Rainbow Buckets & The Big Easy all contain large specimen stones that are not found in a regular Rainbow Bucket. They also contain every gemstone that we have in stock in proportion to the amount that you pay! You also receive a Rock Hound Button and a Gem ID Card.
 

In addition, the Super Duper Rainbow Bucket and the BIG EASY both contain an already cut
and faceted semi-precious gemstone ready for setting!  That's at least a $30 value all by itself!

 

We give you a big scoop, and a HUGE zip bag, or two, or three to put your goodies into.

You really get a bargain with any of these buckets!

with the whole family, or kept just for you!  Hmm....
